In January of 2009, The Art of Motion Dance Company became Fayetteville Youth Dance Company, a new nonprofit organization serving the young dancers of Northwest Arkansas.

Our Mission:

Fayetteville Youth Dance Company (FYDC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate self-confidence, self-expression, and personal artistic growth for youth while striving for creative excellence in dance. It develops character through dance education and performance and promotes service and connection with the local community through its outreach programs.

Individuality of dancers as well as teamwork
Accessibilty of dance to everyone
Performance as an educational tool
Promotion of dance and dance education within the local community

Education:

Fayetteville Youth Dance Company provides its dancers with a diverse, pre-professional dance education through The Art of Motion, Inc. including classes in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, tap, and hip hop. It also seeks outside educational opportunities including dance conventions, workshops, and competitions.

LA Danceforce Competition/Convention
January 9-10, 2010
FYDC's 2010 competition season will begin with LA Danceforce in Tulsa, OK. They will compete dances in lots of different catagories: jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, tap, and production. They will also take classes all day on Saturday and Sunday, learning from some of the best teachers/choreographers in the country!
Lady Gymbacks Performance

FYDC will be performing at the University of Arkansas Lady Gymbacks meet on February 5th. Times will be announced at a later date. Be sure to mark your calendars to come out and support FYDC!!!
Hall of Fame
February, 19-21, 2010
Fayetteville Youth Dance Company's Senior dancers will be visiting a new competition this year: Hall of Fame in Little Rock! We're excited to support dance in our own state of Arkansas! We'll let you know how it goes.
Dance Showcase USA
March 12-14, 2010
This local competition is an FYDC favorite. It's in Bentonville, so it's a great time to come support your family and friends!
The Art of Motion's Spring Recital

Fayetteville Youth Dance Company will be performing at The Art of Motion's annual Spring Recital on Saturday, May 17 at 3:00pm. The performance will take place at Har-Ber High School in Springdale. Tremaine Dance Competition/Convention
April 4-5, 2009
Tremaine Dance Competition and Convention will be a new experience for the Fayetteville Youth Dance Company. Tremaine has a wonderful faculty with amazing classes to be held during their convention. The opportunity to learn from great instructors will make the trip worthwhile no matter what!
Dance Showcase USA
March 6-8, 2009
Fayetteville Youth Dance Company will compete in Bentonville, AR at Dance Showcase USA during the first weekend in March. This is a local competition, so if you want to see what the AOM Dance Company is all about, it's a perfect opportunity!
Razorback Gymbacks Meet

FYDC will be providing the pre-meet entertainment at the University of Arkansas Gymnastics Meet on February 20th at 6:45p.m. Go ahead and mark your calendars now so you won't forget! It will be a lot of fun, so come on out and support us as well as the U of A gymnastics team!
LA Danceforce

McNair Middle School Stampede

FYDC is providing entertainment for the McNair Middle School Stampede on Thursday, November 20 at 6:00. Come join in the fun and support a great cause while you're at it!
Back to School Bash

The FYDC Senior group was asked to perform for the Yvonne Richardson Center's Back to School Bash. The show starts at 12:00 if you want to come out and support the AOM Dancers and the Yvonne Richardson Center!
Lady Razorbacks Basketball Game

The FYDC Senior Companies performed at half time of the Lady Razorbacks first basketball game this season! Both groups danced their jazz piece, and they did amazing. Congratulations, girls! We are so proud of you!
