Ages 7 years and up

This class is the foundation for every form of dance, and every dancer should have ballet background in their dance education. It develops self-discipline, beautiful posture, a controlled body, strength, stamina, and poise.

Ages 7 years and up

This form of dance involves muscle-toning, stretching, and rhythm exercises. Students learn various forms of movement and the wide terminology utilized in this form of dance.

Ages 7 years and up

Students learn tap terminology and how to apply rhythm and timing into a tap routine. Tap dance develops a keen sense of rhythm as well as coordination.

Ages 7 years and up

Lyrical dance is a beautiful blend of ballet, modern, and jazz dance. Students learn the technique of ballet, the rhythms of jazz, and the emotions of modern dance. Using contemporary music selections, dancers create a story or express the mood or theme of the music and its lyrics. Note: lyrical is taught in our jazz classes.

Ages 2 1/2-5 years

This class is designed to introduce young children to dance in a playful setting. They are taught rhythm and coordination with song and dance routines. It is a soft beginning to dance, teaching them the basic skills and terminology needed for ballet or jazz while also increasing their capacity for creativity and self-expression.

Ages 5-10

The Combo classes allow younger students to experience ballet, tap, and jazz in one class that meets one time per week.  It is a wonderful, well-rounded introduction to dance for both the students and the parents. 

Grades 5-7 and 8-9

This class is designed to teach students the skills they will need to make their Junior High or High School pom squad tryout a success!  From toe touches to turns and leaps, it will all be covered here (including how to conduct oneself at the tryout!).  The Art of Motion runs the Fayetteville High School tryouts, and one of its members, Miranda Tims, will be teaching. 

Ages 7 years and up

This exciting dance style can be seen on popular video productions. Used as a great body strengthening technique, dancers will learn the fundamentals of hip-hop and contemporary street dance.

Ages 13 years and up

The original free-form dance.  An American original!  The finishing study for all dancers.  This class is a must for any dancer continuing their education at the college level.

Ages 18 and up

This class is for all the ladies who need a little dance in their lives!  It will include ballet, jazz and hip hop with an emphasis on both fitness and fun!

This is a class geared toward working moms who need a little help fitting a workout into their busy day.  In 45 minutes, we'll fit a mixture of cardio, strength training (pilates) and stretching.  You'll get a full body workout and have time to get back to work before your lunch break is over! 

Ages 12 years and up 

This class will focus on specific skills and stamina.  If you need to improve your turns and leaps, this is the class for you.  This class will not perform in the recital.  Technique, technique, technique!!!
